We know we're supposed to vote, but what impact does that vote actually have?
We know what it means when we elect president.
But what impact is a vote for, say, county commission?
Half?
Actually, a lot County commissioners oversee things like zoning and planning, like where roads, businesses and houses can go.
They also make decisions about the rules that govern the county.
Like are certain types of pet stores allowed?
Where should affordable housing developments go?
Can someone rent their home out as a short term rental?
All in all, county commissioners can have a bigger impact on what happens in your day to day life, like your commute for your business.
Then decisions made at the White House.
So know who your county commissioner is by going to your county website and checking out the district map and voice your opinion on your county commissioner and what they're doing by voting in the November election and going to county commission meetings.
They're usually shown on YouTube or the county website too, so you can watch them however whenever you want.
