When he told me he was working at the gas station, I got that familiar feeling in my chest.
Hi, sweetie!
- How's it going?
Like this weight.
How long do you think youre gon work there for?
Until I pay some of the bills.
I knew he was treading water, and I knew it couldn't last.
I can still see myself as a boy.
Im hiding here and there not having food to eat for weeks.
When I used to sleep on the street looking at the stars and moon always prayed someday, somehow my life will change.
Lord you answered my prayer.
Why now?
And so here I am, reliving the past while trying to live in the present.
Wondering what it means to be a good father, a good daughter, a good mother.
I love you.
